Reston, Virginia-based TekSynap has acquired technology engineering firm JBA for an undisclosed sum as part of a push to strengthen mission support for the FBI.

How Does the JBA Acquisition Expand TekSynap’s Capabilities?

TekSynap said Tuesday the transaction expands its footprint across the National Capital Region; Quantico, Virginia; the Criminal Justice Information Services Division in Clarksburg, West Virginia; and the expanding Redstone Arsenal tech campus in Huntsville, Alabama.

“The acquisition of JBA represents a significant milestone for TekSynap. JBA’s trusted service with the FBI and its proven expertise in IT solutions further expand our capabilities and deepen our customer relationships,” said Troy Walter, vice president, justice at TekSynap. “We look forward to building upon this strong foundation as we continue to deliver mission-critical support to the FBI and other Federal Law Enforcement partners.”

The deal is positioned to enhance TekSynap’s offerings across IT service management, software development, cloud, network engineering and cyber operations. With more than 1,200 cleared professionals and a Top Secret facility clearance, the company aims to enhance its support for classified and mission-critical programs as the FBI advances IT service consolidation under the IT Supplies and Support Services 2 blanket purchase agreement.

“With JBA’s proven track record supporting the FBI, we are now uniquely positioned to accelerate the secure delivery of classified systems, extending capabilities seamlessly from the data center to the tactical edge,” said TekSynap CEO Kamran Jinnah.

What Does JBA Do?

Founded in 1998, JBA is a service-disabled veteran-owned small business that provides cyber operations, software engineering and IT support services for the FBI and other federal agency customers.

The Springfield, Virginia-based company holds ISO 9001:2015, ISO/IEC 20000-1:2018 and ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certifications, reflecting its focus on operational excellence, service quality and information security.

With the closing of the deal, JBA now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of TekSynap.
