Modern Technology Solutions Inc. has secured a $111 million modification expanding its role in the Space Systems Command’s space-based interceptors effort, increasing the total value of MTSI’s systems engineering, integration and testing contract to $226.9 million. The work will be performed in Huntsville, Alabama, through Jan. 10, 2030, the Department of Defense said. SSC obligated $1.6 million at the time of the award.

What Was Updated in the Modification Notice?

Following the modification announcement on Nov. 12, the U.S. Air Force issued a correction, noting the original notice had misstated both the funding profile and the award date. The correct details show the modification used fiscal years 2025 through 2029 research, development, test and evaluation funds, instead of only FY 2025 funds, and the award date was Oct. 14, not Oct. 7.

The modification builds on MTSI’s earlier Phase III Small Business Innovation Research award — a five-year, $99.9 million, sole-source contract to prototype and deliver space command-and-control processes.

MTSI’s broader Space Force presence continues to grow. SSC recently selected the company for a potential five-year, $640 million contract supporting Digital Bloodhound, a program focused on delivering Defensive Cyber Operations for Space capabilities. That work spans software development, cloud services, integrated program management and field deployment support.
