Razor’s Edge has closed its fourth investment fundraising with $560 million in committed capital, surpassing its original $400 million target and bringing the firm’s total assets under management to more than $1.25 billion. The Reston, Virginia-based growth equity firm said Thursday that the fund will enhance its ability to support mission-driven founders and scale high-barrier-to-entry technology companies addressing U.S. national security challenges.
“This fund represents a renewed commitment to our mission to ensure the U.S. and its allies maintain technological superiority in an increasingly contested world,” said Peggy Styer, co-founder and managing partner at Razor’s Edge. “Our team is built from the national security community, and we invest with deep conviction in companies that will win on the modern battlefield.”
Jack Kerrigan, co-founder and managing partner at Razor’s Edge, added that Fund IV will enable the firm to continue building enduring companies that deliver critical capabilities to the defense and intelligence community.
Since its founding in 2010, Razor’s Edge has helped shape the national security technology market by supporting companies across space, autonomy, cyber, advanced sensing, signal processing, artificial intelligence-enabled systems and other defense technologies. The latest fundraising amount is the largest to date and reflects continued investor confidence, the firm said.
Expanding Beyond Fund III
Razor’s Edge closed its third fundraising in 2022 with nearly $340 million, exceeding its $250 million target. That raise brought its assets under management to more than $600 million at the time. With the close of Fund IV, the firm has more than doubled its managed assets in just three years.
“The national security environment demands bold innovation and decisive capital,” said Mark Spoto, co-founder and managing partner at Razor’s Edge. “With four new investments already completed out of Fund IV, we are enabling significant advancements in national security that will safeguard our country and allied partners.”
