Home Contract Awards NASA Picks STC to Support Atmospheric Science Research at Goddard Space Flight Center
NASA has awarded an indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract to Science and Technology Corp., or STC, to support the agency’s atmospheric science research and development activities at the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland.
The IDIQ, valued at up to $163.1 million, has a five-year period of performance, beginning on Nov. 3, the agency said Wednesday.
NASA’s Atmosphere Support Contract Scope
Under the contract STC, will assist in all atmospheric science research and development projects of the Earth Science Division-Atmospheres within Goddard.
According to documents provided in the Atmosphere Support, or ATMOS, proposal solicitation, work on the IDIQ will include Earth system modeling, data processing and analysis and general project and mission science support. STC will also design, develop, maintain and operate technologies needed for conducting atmospheric studies.
The Earth Science Division-Atmospheres studies the structure, dynamics and microphysical properties of clouds, aerosols and precipitation, and aims to advance understanding of the interactions between the atmosphere and the surface. The program enables Goddard to identify, explain and even predict trends in the atmosphere’s spatial and temporal variability and address their impact on climate change, human health, food and water management and other issues.
