Scale AI has secured an other transaction authority agreement from the Department of Defense’s Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office for the delivery of advanced AI tools to warfighters. The five-year deal is valued at $100 million, the San Francisco, California-headquartered company said Wednesday.
AI for Defense Applications
Under the OTA, Scale AI will implement its AI tools to DOD networks up to Top Secret and Sensitive Compartmented Information environments. The capability will enable the agency to turn raw data into actionable AI-ready fuel for building effective models.
The company will also provide access to Scale Donovan, its platform for deploying mission-tailored AI agents. The platform will empower intelligence analysts and mission operators to sift through massive amounts of unstructured data and generate actionable insights. In addition, Scale GenAI Platform will allow defense personnel to modify, test and deploy generative AI models using classified information.
Scale AI’s DOD Partnerships
The deal builds on Scale AI’s collaboration with CDAO on a series of prototype agreements. OTA agreements allow the DOD to partner with non-traditional vendors and streamline the procurement process.
In August, the company also secured a $99.5 million contract from the U.S. Army to advance AI research and development services.
