Former Intelsat CEO David Wajsgras Accepts 2025 Wash100 Award

Executive Mosaic CEO Jim Garrettson personally presented the 2025 Wash100 Award to David Wajsgras, most recently CEO of Intelsat. This marks Wajsgras’ eighth Wash100 win for driving company growth in the space industry amid increased competition.

“Dave has accrued eight Wash100s while at multiple leading GovCon companies—including a storied career at RTX. This highlights his continuity and ongoing leadership and influence in the satcom industry,” said Garrettson, who is also the founder of the Wash100 Award.

Since its launch in 2014, the Wash100 has recognized the most notable and impactful executives transforming the government contracting sector. Selected through a competitive review process, winners of this elite award are recognized for their leadership, vision, innovation and significant contributions in the past year. These honorees are also poised to continue shaping the GovCon landscape in the coming year and beyond.

Positioning Intelsat for Landmark Merger With SES

Wajsgras served as Intelsat’s chief executive for more than three years. During this time, he strengthened the company’s position in the “new space” economy through strategic partnerships and guided its transformation into a multiorbit managed services communications provider, leading Intelsat to its merger with SES in July in a $3.1 billion transaction.

“When I joined Intelsat, we embarked on a significant strategic pivot to transform and reposition the company for long-term growth; and we did. It’s been an extraordinary journey and one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” Wajsgras said in a LinkedIn post in July.

After leading Intelsat, he joined HawkEye 360 as a board member, bringing more than 25 years of experience as an aerospace and defense executive.

Commenting on his Wash100 win, Wajsgras expressed his gratitude for the continued recognition over the years.

“The Wash100 has long been a prestigious awards program within the GovCon community. Acknowledging those who support our important government missions and global allies is laudable. I’m deeply honored to be included on this list alongside such distinguished individuals,” the former Raytheon executive said.
