Home Contract Awards BAE Systems Lands $390M Contract Modification to Deliver Bradley A4 Vehicles to Army
BAE Systems Land & Armaments has secured a contract modification valued at more than $390 million to produce additional Bradley A4 infantry fighting vehicles for the U.S. Army, supporting the service’s multiyear effort to replace legacy Bradley variants with the A4 configuration, which offers improvements in mobility, lethality and crew protection. Work is already underway, with first deliveries scheduled by October 2026, BAE Systems said Wednesday.

BAE Systems’ latest Bradley A4 production award underscores how quickly the Army is moving to modernize its ground combat fleet and prepare for multi-domain operations. At the 2026 Army Summit on June 18, senior leaders and industry partners will break down how upgraded platforms, unified networks and revitalized acquisition strategies are reshaping the service’s path to achieve Army 2030 goals. Register now to hear directly from the officials driving the Army’s next era of transformation.
What Upgrades Does the Bradley A4 Provide?
The A4 is the Army’s latest Bradley variant, incorporating upgraded powertrain components, improved electrical architecture and fully digitized electronics to enhance situational awareness and connectivity across armored brigade combat teams. BAE Systems said the configuration meets requirements in close-combat, urban and open-terrain missions while reducing sustainment demands through greater design commonality.
According to Bill Sheehy, ground maneuver product line director for BAE Systems, the A4 brings performance and next-generation capability to the fight. “It’s critical that we continue upgrading Bradleys to the modern A4 configuration so that warfighters have the equipment they need to dominate. This award not only fuels our commitment to keep the Army and our allies ready for the fight, but it also ensures our U.S. manufacturing lines stay hot and ready for continued production,” he added.
Where Will Bradley A4 Production Take Place?
Work, which will run through Nov. 30, 2027, is distributed across BAE Systems’ domestic industrial base, including facilities in York, Pennsylvania; Aiken, South Carolina; Anniston, Alabama; Minneapolis, Minnesota; San Jose, California; and Sterling Heights, Michigan. The production is performed in partnership with Red River Army Depot.
The contract continues a series of recent production awards to upgrade or build new M2A4 and M7A4 vehicles. In 2024, BAE Systems received a $656 million award for A4 production, followed by modifications for legacy-vehicle inductions.
