Anduril Industries has acquired American Infrared Solutions, or AIRS, for an undisclosed sum as part of a push to expand its portfolio of sensing technologies across the electromagnetic spectrum for defense and national security customers.
How Does the Acquisition Strengthen Anduril’s Sensing Capabilities?
Anduril said Monday New Hampshire-based AIRS designs and manufactures cooled infrared cameras and components used for detection, tracking and targeting missions across air, space, ground and maritime domains.
AIRS-built components have been integrated into some of Anduril’s technology offerings, contributing to enhanced performance and reliability in complex mission environments.
Through the transaction, Anduril will integrate AIRS’ advanced hardware into its portfolio of imaging products, including the Iris long-range optical sensor and the Wisp 360-degree infrared camera. These systems are designed to deliver day and night visibility, detection and tracking capabilities for mobile and fixed-site surveillance operations.
What Does the Transaction Mean for Anduril’s Supply Chain Capabilities?
With the acquisition, Anduril will become a merchant supplier of cooled infrared cameras and components, extending its reach into the defense, space and commercial sectors.
AIRS will continue operations from its New Hampshire facilities, maintaining service for existing customers while expanding its role within Anduril’s manufacturing ecosystem.
