Raytheon, an RTX business, has been awarded a $5.04 billion cost-plus-fixed-fee contract by the U.S. Army to supply components for the Coyote Missile System.
The Department of Defense said Monday, under the agreement, Raytheon will deliver both fixed and mobile Coyote missile launchers, along with kinetic and non-kinetic interceptors, and Ku-band radio frequency radar systems.
Raytheon’s Army Contract Details
The Army Contracting Command at Redstone Arsenal in Alabama is managing the contract. It will determine work locations and funding allocations per order. The contract, solicited online, with only one bid submitted, is estimated to be completed on Sept. 28, 2033.
What Is Coyote Effector?
The Coyote effector is a combat-proven, low-cost, rail-launched missile equipped with a boost rocket motor and turbine engine. It is designed for high-speed counter-unmanned aircraft systems and launched effects missions. The small, expendable kinetic and non-kinetic variants provide defense against a wide range of drone threats, including swarms. They can engage enemy drones at greater distances and altitudes than other drone systems.
