Siemens has announced that Barbara Humpton, president and CEO of Siemens USA, will retire Oct. 1 after 14 years with the company. Ann Fairchild, who has served as Siemens USA general counsel since 2017, will serve as interim president and CEO until a permanent leadership appointment is announced, Siemens said Friday. Fairchild brings more than 20 years of legal and business leadership experience, with a background in compliance, governance, complex transactions and strategic initiatives.
Humpton’s Achievements at Siemens USA
Humpton, a five-time Wash100 Award recipient, has led Siemens USA since 2018 and has overseen significant growth in the company’s largest market. Under her leadership, Siemens undertook nearly $700 million in manufacturing expansions and multibillion-dollar investments to advance digital connectivity and industrial artificial intelligence, preparing for the next era of digital and data-driven transformation. Through her focus on people and innovation, Humpton positioned Siemens’ U.S. workforce to advance the country’s industry and infrastructure.
Before her role as Siemens USA CEO, Humpton served as president and CEO of Siemens Government Technologies, focused on integrating the company’s advanced technologies across federal agencies and departments. She also held multiple external board roles, aligning Siemens with broader economic and policy goals.
