HII has secured a $160.1 million contract modification from the U.S. Navy for the provision of supplemental work related to the initial USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) Refueling Complex Overhaul deal.

Refueling & Overhaul Contract Modification Details

The Department of Defense said Thursday HII will provide refueling and overhaul services for the aircraft carrier. The company will conduct work for the cost-plus-incentive fee modification at its facility in Newport News, Virginia. It is scheduled to complete the contract by October 2026.

The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington, D.C., will allocate $5 million from the Navy’s fiscal 2025 shipbuilding and conversion funds at the time of the award. The said amount will expire at the conclusion of the current fiscal year.

The initial $2.99 billion deal was awarded to HII in February 2021. The company’s shipbuilding division was tasked with providing refueling and overhauling work for the second half of the CVN 74 supercarrier’s five-decade service life.
